Words to Know
Directions – Guess the Definition
• You will be given two definitions for each word.
One will be the true definition, and one will be a
phony definition.
• Your job will be to choose the definition that you
think is correct.
• You have a white board…
• If you think Choice 1 is correct, write a number
one on the white board
• If you think Choice 2 is correct, write a number
two on the white board

• At your tables you will find a plastic bag
for each person
• Inside the bag you will find our
vocabulary words, and their definitions.
You will also find some phony definitionsso be careful!
• Match the word with its definition
• Glue the words/definitions into your
journal. After you glue each word and
definition draw a picture to represent the
word so you can remember it!
