What is Emotional Intelligence?
“We define EI as the capacity to reason about emotions, and the
use of emotions to enhance thinking. It includes the abilities to
accurately perceive emotions, to access and generate emotions so
as to assist thought, to understand emotions and emotional
knowledge, and to reflectively regulate emotions so as to promote
emotional growth.”
John Mayer, Peter Salovey, David Caruso, 2004
“It is the capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of
others, for motivating ourselves, and for managing emotions well in
ourselves and in our relationships.”
Daniel Goleman, 1998

Everett Marshall of Marshall Wagner Associates is certified to administer the EQi-2.0 and
EQ360 assessments
The EQ-i 2.0 measures the interaction between a person and the environment he/she
operates in. This can help establish the need for targeted development programs and
measures, and can lead to dramatic increases in the person’s performance, interaction with
others, and leadership potential.
The EQ 360 assessment provides a more in-depth analysis by having those who work with
the client provide information as well. When observer ratings are compared with the results
of an EQ-i 2.0 self-report, a more complete 360 degree profile emerges.
