HP 3PAR Thin Technologies Leadership Overview
HP 3PAR Utility Storage is built from the ground up to support Thin Provisioning (ThP)
by eliminating the diminished performance and functional limitations that plague
bolt-on thin solutions.
Sequences of zeroes are detected by the 3PAR ASIC
and not written to disks.
HP 3PAR ThP draws fine-grained increments from a
single free space reservoir without pre-dedication of
any kind.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I have to install an agent and will it require a reboot?
No, Ninjathin is an agent less standalone tool designed to run from a USB key. No
installation nor a reboot is required.
Will it access my confidential data?
No. we only read filesystem and device information using standard Operating
System commands or APIs. There is no access to files and folders content.
Will it add overhead?
No, NinjaThin is a lightweight tool, the execution overhead is marginal, typically
less than 5% CPU utilization.
How much network traffic will there be?
Network traffic resulting from a capacity scan is marginal. Testing shows less
than 8KB per scanned host.
