Airspace Review
The Office of Airspace Regulation has completed a
review of Adelaide airspace (following 2008 Hyder Review)
Recommendations affecting ASC:

Defence should review the usage of the Defence managed RAs within 50
nm of Adelaide, with a view to disestablishing RAs that are no longer
operationally required
Defence should review the lateral and vertical limits of the Edinburgh CTR
with a focus to align the CTR with current Defence requirements
Defence should review the minimum dimensions and Class of airspace
required for the protection of Defence aircraft operating outside the hours
of Edinburgh tower
Comment is due by 13 January. Please provide comment to me
(Peter Temple) ASAP for a consolidated ASC response.

RAAF and stand-down
• RAAF Tower will be in stand-down from 12
December to 12 January
• During this time the restricted airspace will
nominally not be active
• However expect at least R234 and EDN CTR to
be activated at times

• Gawler airspace releases Rhynie and Tarlee overlap
R234
• In this case you can only fly above 4500FT west of
the R233 (Kapunda) boundary
• Also activation times change without notice – if you
are returning from a cross country you must check
activation status before entering
