Objective:
Our project aims to develop a fast and efficient
method of electric vehicle battery charging
using an LCL type resonant converter
configuration. For safety, the external charging
circuit will be magnetically coupled to the
vehicle using a clamping type high-frequency
transformer. For ease of use, the entire system
is monitored by a microcontroller which
controls the power output of the charger and
monitors the charging state of the battery.
Summary:
Input = 100 V dc, 2 A
Switching Frequency = 100 KHz
Output = 48 V dc, 4 A (200 W)
Conclusions:
Our circuit is able to deliver a precisely controlled amount of
current very safely and efficiently while reacting quickly to
changes in the state of the charging battery. Our model can
easily be scaled up by any factor by simply changing some of
the components values, in particular the MosFETS.
