Multiple Daily Injections
Benefits of therapy
• Basal/bolus or MDI therapy is widely recognised
to offer the potential of tight glucose control.
• It attempts to closely mimic the patterns of insulin
secretion observed in people without diabetes.
• When combined with carbohydrate counting, it
allows more flexibility with diet and lifestyle.
• Particularly beneficial to those people with
variable or erratic lifestyles for whom insulin
requirements may differ on a daily basis.
