Thanksgiving traditions and celebrations
Along with Christmas and New Year Eve, Thanksgiving is
celebrated as a federal and popular holiday in the U.S.
The first Thanksgiving was celebrated to thank
God for guiding them safely to the ‘New World’.

baked or roasted turkey during the feast.

stuffed and mashed potatoes,
sweet corn,
cranberry sauce,
juicy squashes,
and pumpkin pie are among
the commonly cooked.
Families and friends
usually gather for a
large meal or dinner.
They also go for
fun-loving travel
and adventure.
Parades are held widely in
America with specific themes,
large balloons of cartoons and
TV personalities and high school
marching bands.
The parade
traditionally ends with
Macy's Parade which is
the Santa Claus float
this marks the beginning of the
Christmas season.
American football is widely
played on Thanksgiving eve
along with it other sports like basketball, pumpkin
chunking contest and other such games are played.
A Christian-themed film is released in America during or on this
day with Christmas specials broadcast in television and radio.
