What is it?
• The Unified Call Control Investment Protection provides customers with the
maximum level of investment protection, reassurance, and flexibility when it
comes to TelePresence Call Control and Advanced Applications
How does it work?
• The program allows Cisco VCS Control Customers to migrate their
Telepresence endpoints from VCS Control to CUCM 8.6 (or later) for $0 license
fee. Note that Unified Communications Software Subscription (UCSS) is
required.
• Customers may choose to do this in the near term or in the future.
• The key to this plan is that it allows them to be flexible in their planning
Why should customer be interested in this program?
• Customers that choose to invest in VCS may continue to see the benefits of this
investment no matter where they might register their TelePresence endpoints in
the future, either CUCM or VCS and with the version of CUCM 8.6 (or later) that
they want

How to migrate your Cisco TelePresence endpoints for use on Cisco Unified CM:
• Presently the migration PIDS are orderable with top-level PIDS(This should be done
first):
• L-CUCM-USR-LIC-ADD (CCW)
• CUCM-USR-LIC-ADD (DCT).
• Once the Top level PID has been selected, the following migration PIDS must be
selected:
• Desktop TelePresence endpoints:
MIG-VCS-UCM-DKTPV
• Single Screen Immersive endpoints:
MIG-VCS-UCM-SGLSRN
• Desktop PID for soft client migration to Jabber : MIG-VCS-UCM-DKTPV
• The above migration PIDS will also become standalone PIDS in the near future for
direct ordering

Cost:
•
CUCM licenses required at no cost, however UCSS will be required for
every endpoint migrated

• Licenses are now managed by an Enterprise
License Manager (ELM)
• ELM can run on a separate server or co-resident
with product
• ELM stores all the licenses the enterprise/SP
purchased for the UC solution.
• ELM tracks the "feature usage" of each product
registered for license management and then
evaluates the overall license status of the
features under use.
• Based on the feature usage evaluation and the
availability of licenses for the features, each
product is notified of its license status i.e.,
whether or not the product is in compliance.
• UC products (UCM, UC, BE5K, BE6K) will be
supported in 9.0 as well CUP via UCM and HCS.
