1. Restate the Question in your answer.
2. Construct a “gist” or main idea response
3. Add supporting details: such as evidence,
examples, data
4. Stay on topic! Ask yourself “Did I answer
the question to the best of my ability?”
5. Use proper conventions: grammar,
punctuation, spelling, capitalization
