 Founded as the American Association of
Oilwell Drilling Contractors (AAODC) in
1940.
 In 1972, the AAODC became the
International Association of Drilling
Contractors (IADC), beginning its
transformation to an international
organization.
 Today, IADC represents drilling contractors,
oil and gas producing companies and
manufacturing and service companies
worldwide and is truly a multinational
organization.
