By: Bethanie Durham On TV and other types of media people mainly see Eastern Kentucky and then immediately judge all of Kentucky and Kentuckians based on what they’ve seen. Stereotype #1: We are all uneducated and can’t be successful. Truth #1: We are very educated and can succeed. In fact, many successful people have come from Kentucky. Stereotype #2: We all have thick southern accents Truth #2: Most of us don’t have an accent. George Clooney (born in Lexington, KY) Stereotype #3: We’re all hicks that live out in the country.
