Kentucky Stereotypes

On TV and other types of media people mainly
see Eastern Kentucky and then immediately
judge all of Kentucky and Kentuckians based on
what they’ve seen.
Stereotype #1:
We are all uneducated
and can’t
be successful.
Truth #1:
We are very educated
and can succeed. In fact,
many successful people
have come from
Stereotype #2:
We all have
thick southern
Truth #2:
Most of us
don’t have
an accent.

Stereotype #3:
We’re all hicks that
live out in the
Truth #3:
Not everyone in Kentucky live
in the country, many lives in
cities and suburbs just like
any other state.
