 ESMA is a member of the Gulf Standardization and metrology Organization (GSO)
 It is the nationally recognized body in UAE for issuing National Standards
 The standardization work is conducted by technical committees which can obtain assistance from
groups of experts
Technical Committee
Technical committees consist of qualified representatives of the industrial and trade sectors,
research institutes, public authorities, consumer or professional bodies.

Summary
 ESMA manages the ECAS Program autonomously
 No appointed inspection companies required to issue the CoC
 If the exporting product is not listed in the ECAS Program nor in
any other local authority, the shipment does not require any
Conformity Assessment
 Each Emirate has its own local authorities with applicable
regulations
