Geographic setting:
Afghanistan is mountainous country. And rugged, land-locked
country in south central Asia it is bordered by Pakistan, Iran,
Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and china is dominated by
the majestic Hindu Kush whose peaks rise to over 7000m, and
associated mountain ranges extending across the country in a
northeast to southwest arc. Traversed deep valleys these
mountain separated plains north and Southwest.

resulted in:

 Soil erosion
 Water shortage and pollution.
 Land slides.
 Extinctions of species.
 Destruction of infrastructures.
NEPA
The National Environment Protection Agency
(NEPA) was established in January 2oo5 as an
independent agency to combat environment
degradation. NEPA has 34 sub-province offices.
Division for Enviromental,Impact,Assessment
and Sustainable Development

Division for Environmental, Impact Assessment
is a key Division and very important in NEPA
level ,this Division has tow department, such as
EIA, and Sustainable Development.
This Division according the Environment law
policy,regulation,guidline is Responsible for all
of development projects, like Mining,Industerial
, Construction, dam, and all kinds of projects
productions projects as well as.

We have Scoping and Screening Process to
Implement to all of Projects. Than we have
another Department like Sustainable
Development. which has Responsible to check
and monitoring all of Projects which is were
surveyed and registered by the EIA group
already. And we have Implemented the
Sustainable development process to all of
projects like Industrials, Mining, construction.
