Plaza Vista Jog-A-Thon Friday, March 20th, 2015 (Thursday, April 17th, 2015 – Alternative in case of Rain) ATTENTION Parents it is time for our annual Jog-a-thon! Read on for important details for this upcoming event. What is the Plaza Vista Jog-a-thon? Our school Jog-a-thon is a running/walking event sponsored by Plaza Vista PTA. This is a fundraising event with the goal of promoting exercise and healthy lifestyles. Other than our annual fall pledge drive, it is our only other major school fundraiser. Students will have about 30 minutes to complete as many laps as possible by walking and jogging. What is the goal of the Jog-a-thon? All donations from our school Jog-a-thon support PTA sponsored school enrichment programs such as computer lab equipment, school assemblies, lunchtime programs, staff support and much more!. What about T-shirts? Students will receive a Plaza Vista Jog-a-thon T-shirt the day of the event. We are asking families to donate a voluntary contribution of $5.00 per student to help off-set the cost of the shirt. If you’d like to contribute, please include on the attached donation form. Are volunteers needed? You bet, we need volunteers to mark lap cards, serve water and assist in a variety of ways. If you’re available to help, we need you! Collect Donations: The Jog-a-thon is a key fundraiser we depend on to meet our PTA donation budget for Plaza Vista. Please help us meet these goals by asking your family and friends to help by sponsoring your run. Please fill out the sponsorship part of this form and return them to school no later than Friday, March 13th. 2. Run / Walk the 2015 Jog-a-thon on Friday, March 20th: Family is invited to join us for the fun event. • Kindergarten – 3rd Grade: 8:30am to 9:30am (30 min running time) • 4th – 5th Grade: 10:30am – 11:30am (40 min running time) • 6th – 8th Grade: 1:15pm – 2:15pm (40 min running time) 3. Return Donations: After the Jog-a-thon is completed, collect all of your Jog-a-thon donations from your sponsors and send in your funds by Tuesday, March 24th.
