Axle load measurement
Kimax 2 uses the linearity between air pressure and load of the single axles.
By using two reference points for each axle (empty weight and weight at
maximum load) and the currently measured air pressure.
Kimax 2 calculates the current axle load with an accuracy of 2 % of the maximum
load for each axle.

Weight
Compression
Basic principle for measuring the front axle weight is displayed above.
The weight of the vehicle is carried by the parabolic springs between the chassis
and the front axle.
Adding weight to the vehicle above the frontaxle, causes a tension or “compression”
of the top surface of the front axle.
This tension is sensed by the SG sensor we glue onto the top surface of the axle.

First tool to use is normally a angle grinding machine equipped with a lamella disk
Ø125 mm/Ø5”, grain size is typically 60 – 80 at the beginning and 80 - 100 at the
end.

Finally grinding by hand using first grain 120 at the end you use grain 240,

order of removing fingerprints.

The axle surface must be cleaned by cleaning solvent, a 1:1 mixture of Acetone and
chemical clean 2-Peopanol. You must purchase these indigents local, as we can’t
send it as air freight, since the 9. September 2001. it is really important to wipe any
dust away from gluing area on both axle and SG sensor, in order of getting a reliable
attachment.

You distribute one drip of Z70 rapid glue on the sensor area of the sensor and put it
in position and press it onto the axle for at least 1 min with your fingers without
moving the sensor.

When the sensor is glued with the rapid glue, you can seal the wires by using a litle
of the Black Tunap.
When you connect the sensor to the cable harness you can test the function of the
sensor by entering the OAA menu. One person about 100 kg increase the OAA
value by 0,2 when you enter the cabin from ground.

The cover is tied down to the axle by using some long cable strips. The black glue
has to cure overnight.

When the black glue is cured , the cavity between the cover and the axle must be
filled completely by injecting the gray Tunap, until it comes out of the venting holes
in the cover.
The holes has to be topped one after one.
You must continue injecting until the grey stuff come up to the venting hole of the cable.
All cables has to be tied down to the axle and routed up to the chassis frame
