To enable and to encourage children to investigate and
identify the uses of technology that surrounds them in their
everyday lives.

To enable and encourage children to use a range of ICT
equipment such as computers and programmable toys to

To promote children’s ICT as a tool for learning,
to develop the necessary skills to achieve this
and to also develop their understanding of it’s
everyday use.

ICT for young children
They can learn about a resource:E.g. programme a robotic toy, use a digital camera, switch on a CD
player
and then use this knowledge to learn with it:E.g. working out how to park a programmable toy, use a digital
camera to record what happens when seeds are planted, listen to
a story on a CD player

The Learning Environment
Mae adnoddau TGCh yn fwyaf effeithiol i ddysgu plant pan mae’r
adnoddau yn cael i ddefnyddio trwyddi draw yn yr amgylchedd dysgu
a ddim mewn ardal ar wahan, ardal DGCh. Dylai plant medru
cyrraedd yr adnoddau yn annibynnol ac yn ystod gweithgareddau
cychwynnir gan blant ac oedolion.
ICT resources are most effective to children’s learning
when they are used throughout the learning environment
and not as a separate “technology area” . Children
should be able to access resources independently, in a
variety of groupings and during adult or child led
activities.
