Convergence of telecommunication technology permits the manipulation of all forms of
information, voice, data, and video. Telecommunication has changed from a world of scarcity
to one of seemingly limitless capacity.

and 90% of them use FD-LTE

 Cell range
– 5 km optimal size
– 30km sizes with reasonable performance
– up to 100 km cell sizes supported with acceptable
performance

– up to 200 active users per cell(5 MHz) (i.e., 200 active data

LTE-A carrier aggregation
For increasing capacity in LTE-A carrier aggregation is used. Each aggregated carrier is referred to as a
component carrier. The component carrier can have a bandwidth of 1.4, 3, 5, 10 or 20MHz and maximum
5 carriers can be aggregated

HetNet/eICIC
LTE Advanced Heterogeneous Networks (HetNet) use a mix of macro, Pico, femto and
relay base stations, effectively bringing the network closer to the user

NTT DoCoMo announced the completion of a LTE-A trial where it archived a top rate of 5Gbps DL in
100MHz band using 12 transmit and 12 receive antennas at speed of 10km/h in 2007.

Voice service in LTE: circuit voice
LTE is a data focused technology, originally 3GPP not specified voice call service
There are 2 methods to provide circuit voice service in LTE Network named CSFB/SVLTE

services in preparation for the coming All-IP environment
