Energy input = 5 mA for 0.4 Seconds at an average of 0.79 Volts.
Energy output = 5 mA for 4.1 Seconds at an average of 0.78 Volts
Power input = (Duty cycle)*(Volts)*(Current) = (0.4/4.5)*(0.005)*(0.79) = 0.351 mW
Power Output = (Duty Cycle)*(Volts)*(Current) = (4.1/4.5)*(0.005)*(0.78) = 3.55 mW
Ratio = Output/Input = 3.55/0.351 = 11.2
Gain = (100%)*(Output/Input) = (100%)*(3.55/0.351)= 1120%
Output and input current could be measured using the exact same 1 ohm resistor (volts
across resistor would be 0.005 V).
Voltage across the cell remains fairly constant at 0.78 to 0.79 Volts.
Total error for power measurements can easily be less than 3% with good equipment.
